Fortuny unveils Diva, the new collection of fashion dolls and miniature dresses.
It is a selection of unique and exclusive collectible doll-sized mannequins, handmade in Venice by skilled fashion artisans with real craftsmanship and meticulous attention to details.
The dresses are Fortuny gown at miniature scale with pleated pure silk and Murano glass beads, tiny creations marvels of skill and precision embodying the quintessence of the Atelier Fortuny.
Miniature use in couture is not something new, the most characteristic example would be the Théâtre de la Mode, a traveling exhibit featuring miniature, doll-like mannequins wearing French designers’ latest creations, opened at the Louvre in Paris March 28, 1945, now part of the permanent collections of the Maryhill Museum of Art in Washington.
The mannequin is made of painted polyurethane. The arms are fixed in the position featured in the selected picture. The position of the arms cannot be changed, if a different position is required for the arms, specify the request in the notes. The base of the figurine is made of painted aluminium.
