Ca’ Select in Venice

Ca’ Select is located in a former industrial workshop in the Cannaregio district on an area of about 700 square meters. The architectural and interior design project – signed by the Marcante-Testa studio – involves the recovery of a former industrial building dedicated to metalworking and reflects, both in its architecture and layout, the refined, original and authentic style of Select.

The space is organized on two levels and divided into four functional zones.
The overall experience of the new space is imagined as a theatrical sequence, where the audience becomes protagonist as in the famous “Bal Oriental,” whose images “immerse” the visitor in what has gone down in history as the most extraordinary masquerade party of the Venetian twentieth century.

Playing into this “staging” is the decorative lighting, characterized by the use of hanging and wall lamps by Fortuny, a company that, like Select, was born and still exists in the heart of Venice.
The scenographic Scheherazade silk chandeliers create a striking visual play of “discs” of light, suspended by means of a red metal structure that defines and marks the bar counter.

The Marcante-Testa studio’s project was made possible thanks to the collaboration with architect Valter Camagna for construction management, Roberta Minici (MindTheGap studio) as project manager, and the PGS engineering studio for all design parts related to systems and structures.
